Fatshion Time Machine - Colour Blocking / Mod

Mod Colour Blocking

Two big trends that seem to be in the stores right now from bygone eras - the "colour blocking" look, and things inspired by the "Mod" subculture. It's not the first time we have seen a "Mod" revival and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Red, black and white predominate in the "Mod" look, so this suits me nicely! It's a look you can usually put together just by combining colourful pieces you already have that are the right shapes.

To immerse yourself in the history of this look, check out Mary Quant and Twiggy. There's a quite distinctive look to this stuff, which is quite fun! Think Mondrains, sharp angled clothing, chunky colours and accessories, beatnicks, teddy boys and miniskirts.

Pictured above, with links below are some modern takes on the look. All these are available in plus sizes.
