Review & Swatches: Illamasqua Complement Palette

You know, sometimes I dream about becoming suddenly wealthy and being able to do wild things like launch my own cosmetics company. A company that does things a bit differently, that has really wild products and an out-of-the-box attitude.

Thing is - that company already exists, and I didn't have to do a thing. My love for Illamasqua only increases with each new campaign and release. When they recently reduced all their prices, I was even more delighted.

Their new collection "Generation Q", is all about ageless beauty. Because they walk the walk instead of just talking the talk they chose models in a range of ages to promote the range - this gorgeous lady you can see to the left is Evelyn and she's 72. Frankly I am far more impressed with a makeup range that can make a 72 year old look this good, than gazing at yet another airbrushed picture of a beautiful model in the full flower of her youth.

Enough soapboxing - I received a very welcome present in the mail recently - some pieces of the new collection. The star of the show is the new Complement Palette.

It has four eye shadows in it - Slink (a shimmery champagne colour), Focus (a brown liquid metal creme); Forgiveness (a chocolatey plum colour) and Queen of the Night (dark plum with purple micro glitter)

The darker colours really skate the line between purple and brown, which makes them highly wearable colours. As you'd expect from Illamasqua these are highly pigmented, blend like a dream and all play well together.

If you get the opportunity to get your hands on this, then hop to it!
