Review: Estee Lauder Pure Color Rainbow Eye Palette

The Estee Lauder name is synonymous with quality, so it was with high expectations that I bought this palette home.

The packaging is really pretty, and I thought my daughter might like the pastel colours. There's four swivelling layers, with a gold lid at the top embossed with the "EL" monogram,, two layers with four shadows in each, and a tray with two brushes - one sponge tip and one brush.

The colours have a nice soft texture, but are not very heavily pigmented - these shadows are for subtle washes of colour. If you're wanting to add some new colours in your makeup but you're nervous about super brights, this would be a great way to ease yourself in to the idea. All of these have a shimmer to them that catches the light.

The eyeshadows in this palette are:

Ivory Box - a champagne / cream
Candy Cube - a cool baby pink
Mint Ice - mint green
Lagoon - light pastel blue
Mocha Cup - a light oyster brown
Berry Ice - plum
Tea Biscuit - shimmery taupe
Chocolate - dark brown

I was lucky enough to pick this up discounted, and it's a nice addition to my collection - certainly different to other shadows I have.
