Review: Lush Cupcake Face Mask

I was fortunate enough to be invited to a blogger event called "Glamour Affair" not too long ago, and one of my favourite parts of the day was a visit from the team at Lush. They made, right before our eyes, a fresh face mask product for us to take home.

It's the Cupcake Face Mask, and it smells like chocolate heaven. It even has real chocolate in it! But you can't eat it.. instead you can smear it on your face.

It's really quite a fetching look, I must say!

It feels a bit like a mud/clay mask on the skin, not surprising considering one of the major ingredients is Rhassoul Mud.

Lush describe the mask as follows:

Chocolate heaven for oily and teenage skin. Its action removes excess oil and calms breakouts. Rhassoul mud cleans and soothes, linseed, cocoa butter and cocoa powder soften the skin. Balancing peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils complete this effective and delicious experience. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave for five to ten minutes, and then rinse away with warm water. Keep chilled.

Having been to Vietnam and back for work recently I've definitely not been as nice as usual to my skin, and it as responded by getting oily and breaking out a bit so this is just what the doctor ordered, I think.

I really enjoyed using this - it was like having a very indulgent chocolate treat, but one that was nice to my skin, instead of the usual result of eating a lot of chocolate!

This is one I will definately be keeping an eye out for in the lush store.
